What Employees Have to Say
Recently I experienced a shareholder buyout and subsequent lay-off from a company where I had worked as a senior level executive for nearly a decade. Recognizing the initial severance package as standard, I reached out to Ms. Wellbrock for her expert guidance on how best to pursue a better offer. Not only did she thoroughly review the severance in a timely manner, but also a strict Business Protection Agreement (BPA) having the potential to seriously curtail my employment options going forward. After some well-facilitated back and forth, thanks to Ms. Wellbrock’s masterful insights I accepted a severance nearly double the original offer complemented by a much more flexible BPA. Perhaps most impressive was Ms. Wellbrock’s ability to strike just the right tone, moving the negotiations forward in a favorable manner while simultaneously protecting my interests and mitigating conflict. Her masterful approach enabled all parties to achieve mutually satisfactory outcomes without the usual rancor and hard feelings characterizing many such interactions. I would highly recommend Ms. Wellbrock. It is simply not possible to hire a better attorney for your employment practices needs.

Cynthia presented to a group of our clients and employees on “From Hired to Fired and what lies between”. Cynthia did an excellent job of explaining many complex employment laws in layman’s terms, and through the use of stories. The stories really allowed us to interpret the laws and determine how they might affect our Companies. Her stories also allowed us to understand the “reasonableness” that was behind each of the laws. Cynthia’s perspective as an advocate of employees, but also someone that helps employer’s be “protected” is very enlightening.

I cannot say enough good things about Cynthia! She literally saved my job several years ago when a former employer tried to get a restraining order and later an injunction against me to keep me from working for their competitor. Cynthia was tenacious in defending against their false claim that I was bound to a non-compete agreement. We had but a few days to prepare for a full day hearing and respond to their legal motions. Cynthia worked tirelessly over those days thoroughly reviewing the evidence, performing legal research which uncovered cases strongly supporting our position, drafting a legal brief and preparing me for my testimony. During the hearing she was a formidable foe and outsmarted the opposing attorney at every turn. We won at the hearing and I was able to keep my job. Words I would use to describe Cynthia are sharp, focused, creative, diligent, compassionate and tenacious. She was a pleasure to work with and when she’s not “on” as an attorney, is really fun to work with! Whenever a friend has an employment law issue the first thing I say is, “You should call Cynthia”.

What Employers Have to Say
My firm has used the legal services of Cynthia Wellbrock on many occasions over the past 4 years. I expect an attorney to promptly return my phone calls, give me clear, concise, and solution oriented advice and bill me fairly. Cynthia does all that. We have come to rely on her as an important and effective resource in the increasingly complex employment landscape.

I have known Cynthia Wellbrock for almost ten years as a professional business associate in a business association here in Denver, and as a client of her firm. She is a person of high integrity, probably more than anyone I know. Although she is an employment law attorney she is also a business owner and she possesses a thorough understanding that legal issues have serious business implications as well. She is a vigorous and hardworking advocate who I would highly recommend to anyone needing an attorney skilled in employment law.

I had the opportunity to work with Cynthia Wellbrock, Esq, in the past when she provided employment law guidance and support to Colorado Capital Bank. The bank merged a few years ago but prior to the merger Cynthia was a great resource, provided solid advice and always responded in a timely matter. It was a pleasure to work with Cynthia and to be able to rely on her expertise when needed.

When I had a very stressful and possibly very lengthy and expensive employee issue on my hands, I contacted Cynthia for help. With the first meeting, I realized I had contacted the right person for the job. Cynthia’s knowledge in labor law is comprehensive. She gave me sound advice on the spot, citing statutes and laws that she knew from years of experience in the field. Not only did she help me with the current employee issue that I had, she made sure that changes were made in my business that would protect from me from other potential issues going forward. She was extremely flexible in scheduling meetings, and very prompt replying to questions, both on the phone and via email. My situation with this case could not have turned out any better than it did. I thank her very much for getting the issue resolved quickly so that I could stop thinking about it and get back to what I do best: taking care of my patients.
