Cynthia is a native of Long Island, New York.  She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts from Queens College, NY in 1989, and her J.D. from California Western School of Law in San Diego, CA in 1995.  During her last year of law school she was a law clerk for the Honorable Judge Irma Gonzales, of the Southern District of California.

Upon graduating Cal Western in 1995 Cynthia accepted a one-year contract position as a litigation associate in the Litigation Department of San Diego Gas & Electric Company. This position provided experience in a broad range of areas of a litigation practice including commercial, personal injury, property, eminent domain, public utility law and employment law.

In 1997 Cynthia was admitted to practice law in Colorado.  Prior to founding The Law Office of Cynthia E. Wellbrock, LLC in 2002, Cynthia was associated with Silver & DeBoskey in Denver, and Miller & Steiert, P.C. in Littleton.  At these firms Cynthia was able to focus almost exclusively upon her passion for employment law and gained extensive experience representing both employees and businesses.   She has made numerous appearances in both state and federal courts as well as administrative agencies.

In addition to her litigation practice, Cynthia also provides transactional services and training for small businesses to help them improve their employment practices - and thus avoid litigation.  In so doing she is able to further her goal of an improved workplace for all, so employers can focus on improving their bottom line.  The training she provides to small businesses includes topics such as hiring and firing practices, prevention of all kinds of workplace harassment and conducting investigations of harassment allegations, how to perform fair and unbiased performance evaluations, wage and hour issues,  medical leave and disability issues.  Because of her experience on both sides of the table – employee and employer – she brings a unique perspective to her practice and her clients.

Cynthia is admitted to practice before all Colorado State and Federal Courts in the District of Colorado.   She is a member of the Colorado Bar Association and the Colorado Plaintiff’s Employment Lawyers Association.   In addition she currently serves on the Board of Women Business Executives, and is a former Board Member of the Colorado Women’s Bar Association and Denver Shares.

Cynthia is a Graduate Assistant Instructor for The Dale Carnegie Course in Public Speaking.  Before her knees said “no more” she was an avid runner, and finished the 1991 NY Marathon, several half-marathons and dozens of 10Ks.  She is also fluent in Sign Language for the Hearing Impaired.
